Build / Web & App Development
Products that hold up when real traffic arrives.
Web and mobile products built to survive their own success — the load, the edge cases, and the second year of maintenance.
Start a projectThe prototype became the product
What was built to prove an idea is now carrying real users, and every change costs more than the last.
It works until it matters
Fine in demo, fragile at month end. Load is not a thing you add later; it is a thing the architecture either survives or does not.
Nobody can safely change it
No tests, no types, no boundaries. The team is not slow — the codebase makes every change expensive.
What we do
- 01Product and platform engineeringWeb and mobile applications built on a typed, tested foundation.
- 02Interface and design systemsCapabilityComponent libraries and interface design carried through to production, not handed over as a file.
- 03API integration & systems workCapabilityConnecting to the systems you already run, and the ones your partners run.
- 04Architecture reviewAn honest read on what will break first, and what it costs to fix now versus later.
- 05Migration and re-platformingMoving off what is holding you back without a rewrite everyone regrets.
- 06Test and release engineeringPipelines that let a small team ship on a Friday.
How we work
- 01
Brief
1 week
What it has to do, who it serves, and what failure would cost.
- 02
Scope
1–2 weeks
Architecture, sequence, and a number you can plan against.
- 03
Build
6–16 weeks
Shipped in slices, visible in your portal throughout.
- 04
Run
Ongoing
Monitored, patched, and answerable after launch.
Duka Moja
- The challenge
- A marketplace where buyers and sellers who have never met need to transact safely, on connections that drop.
- The approach
- A typed commerce core with escrow at the centre, vendor onboarding behind KYC, and an admin surface built for dispute handling from day one.
- The result
- Storefront, vendor portal and back-office running as one system, operated by the team that built it.
Questions we get asked
Will you work with our existing team?
Usually, yes. Embedding alongside an in-house team tends to leave more behind than delivering in isolation.
Do you take on existing codebases?
Yes. We start with an architecture review so nobody is guessing about what is actually there.
What stack do you use?
TypeScript across the board, React and Next.js on the front, Postgres underneath by default. We fit the stack you already run where it makes sense.
Can you do mobile as well as web?
Yes — as native or cross-platform, decided by what the product actually needs rather than a house preference.
What happens after launch?
Either you take it and we hand over properly, or we keep running it. Both are fine; being vague about which is not.
